Latest Dive Report

Dive Date: Wednesday 18 December 2024

Location: Julian Rocks

Visibility: 3-10m

Water Temperature:  Anything from 20-26 all mixed together

Comments: Mixed water throughout the Nursery, Needles and Hugos trench with mixed vis too. Great diving as there was standing room only amidst 25+ Leopard Sharks, Eagle Rays, several Loggerhead Turtles, White Tipped Black Stingrays, 4 big QLD Groper, a lone female Grey Nurse with signs of mating on her side, huge numbers of schooling fish including Snapper, Brown Sweetlips, Moses Perch, Southern Silver Drummer and Blue Fin Trevally all crowded into wherever there was pockets of warm water.

Plenty of Crayfish, Hairy Legged and Painted, in every nook and cranny, Hinge Beak Shrimp, Squat Lobster and a Mantis Shrimp. Dozens of White Eyed Morays: out and about free swimming, usually a signature of very warm summer water. Great diving thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
